The best kept secret in Sydney. Lauren is super knowledgeable and is a kind and caring teacher. The horses are super friendly and so well looked after, nothing seems to bother them. Whatever your riding skill or needs this is the place to go. They offer a really unique riding experience where you learn everything from cleaning hooves, putting on saddles and bridles and doing feeds. A truly great and supportive horse community to be involved with. Thanks Lauren for always going above and beyond! Can’t wait to visit you and the horses again

Terrey hills riding school would have to have the ultimate horse experience which outweighs any other riding school I have ever been to. They teach you how to catch, groom and then also have a lovely riding lesson. Her horses are beautifully calm and you learn to ride properly from trails, dressage and show jumping.

My daughter attended a holiday clinic with the school. She was a nervous rider prior to attending the clinic due to having previously fallen off a horse. I dropped her off as a nervous rider who loved horses and picked a girl who had learnt a lot was much more confident and had had an absolute brilliant time. The staff were fantastic and organised. They understood each riders level and accommodated accordingly. Plus they were pleasant to deal with to me and caring and fun for my daughter. I can imagine I will be asked to book in for every holiday.

I started riding at THRS almost a year ago. My Friday lessons with Lauren are the absolute highlight of my week! The stables are beautiful and well maintained. The horses are clearly loved and well cared for. Lessons are either in a dressage arena or occasional out-rides, weather dependent. The opportunity to groom and saddle/tack up as part of the lesson experience is just wonderful. Lauren is a brilliant instructor who not only knows and understands each of her horses, but also carefully matches to a rider. Lauren is flexible, responsive and her feedback is constructive and personalised. Highly recommended. 5/5.

I started riding when I was 5 years old and have loved the magic of being around horses ever since! I had a break from riding and started my journey back with Lauren at THRS. Lauren has been amazing in helping me get back on the horse as she has a unique way to inspire, encourage, teach and support! My days with the horses are what I look forward to most during the week. I simply forget about everything else and I am just in the moment with the horses and enjoy learning something new and developing every time I am on horse back or simply around the horses.

Coming to Terry Hills Riding School has become the absolute highlight of my week. I started this year as an adult beginner rider, and I feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful riding school. Lauren has helped me to learn the basics of horsemanship, riding and horse behaviour. She is encouraging and supportive, and ensures that riders feel safe and comfortable throughout the lesson. Each horse has a unique personality and they are clearly loved and well-cared for. I highly recommend Terry Hills Riding School, though I would love it to stay a well-kept secret!

I've been riding for years and experienced many riding schools, yet can honestly say that Terry Hills Riding School far exceeds any other. Lauren is an amazing, patient and considerate instructor, who clearly loves her horses and has their best interests at heart. Riders get the opportunity to catch, groom, tack up and actually connect with their horse prior to riding. For those, like me, that don't have the time to commit to owning a horse, this is such a great experience. The horses are well schooled, loved and respected. I've been riding here for over 7 years and absolutely love it!

I love coming here every week and feel very relaxed and safe with the riding experience. I love being able to look after the horses as well and tack them up as oppose to just riding them and being able to develop relationships with each horse!

Having been to numerous riding schools and trail riding experiences across Sydney, I can honestly say that Terry Hills Riding School is the best place to learn to ride a horse. Lauren (the owner, the trainer, the instructor, the eventer) is an inspirational horse riding coach who is able to promote confidence in new riders, and challenge more experienced riders to take their riding to the next level. A typical lesson with Lauren is certainly far from a typical lesson at other riding schools. She will teach you to catch your horse, put on a halter, clean the hooves, groom the horse, put on a saddle and bridle, and mount the horse. This all takes place before the 'lesson' even starts! Then you get to walk through a short bush trail to the well maintained arena for a generous hour of highly skilled instruction. Lauren is a kind and supportive instructor who provides constructive feedback to improve your riding. The lessons are always fun, and you finish up with a sense of accomplishment. Whether it be learning to canter using a monkey grip on the lunge, or learning a flying change of lead across the diagonal, Lauren is the coach who will support you to reach your riding goals! Thank you, Lauren, for supporting me to develop my riding skills. I'm already looking forward to the next lesson!

The place engages in unfair and unsavory business practices. Stay away and avoid problems. There are better riding schools out there that won't rip you off.
