Wendy Hearn is an amazing and patient teacher that allows the student to cater a class the student's ability. I have taken numerous classes with Wendy even though I have been silver smithing for a long time. I always learn new techniques and mind blowing new ways of handling items I had not seen before. Sitting somewhere comfortably between traditional training and artistic licence, Wendy helps the student to embrace experimentation while learning good techniques and habits along the way. Highly recommend multiple classes with this school! Well worth the hour drive one way for me.

Just completed a course about combining resin and wood in jewellery. Fabulous. Learned so much. Wendy is an excellent teacher who is very generous with information and gets just as much enjoyment as her students do , especially when they succeed. The school is well situated with good access to shops and food and has a parking station directly behind the school. It was my first time to this area and I loved it. I could never have learned this technique from you tube... I just had to see it in person. As you can tell, I highly recommend the school.

Wendy is a very knowledgable and approachable teacher that shares her love of jewellery design and making. I have learnt a range of skills from her, in wax carving and electroforming. I look forward to returning and learning more skills in the future. I can't recommend her enough!

I have done a number of courses here as I’ve navigated my way through a new skill area. I’ve enjoyed the demonstration method and then being able to play and try out new ideas. For me the most memorable courses have been the ones that go for 6 weeks or so. As you get to know the other members of the class and often learn from each other. I’m keen to do more at the school and hope they bring out more courses for me to try. I also love that it is located close to home so I don’t have to travel far. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try there hand at this lovely skill base!

Wendy is a great teacher and generously shares her knowledge. I have done 5 courses over two years and I return due to learning so much. The support and encouragement from attending, led me to implementing jewellery as an elective for year 9 at the highschool I teach in.

I’ve taken classes with the School for years with various owners & teachers & I’m really glad it exists. The school has always been at the forefront of contemporary jewellery design in Australia & I’ve learnt numerous skills. Most recently I took an electroforming class & Wendy gave out class notes & ideas on suppliers. I plan to take a tutorial so I can use electroforming to make rings. I have great plans!!

I have done numerous courses with Sydney jewellery school both with Wendy the owner and other teachers. Ive found all teachers to be experts in their fields along with knowing many tips and tricks for making pieces. The knowledge that they have to be able to think out of the box and offer alternative ways to create pieces is incredible. Wendy is an absolute wealth of knowledge and goes above and beyond for students. She also provides information for suppliers or will supply the necessary equipment onsite. Such an added bonus! I’ll be booking many more classes in the future!

I have completed quite a few courses here and it really brought my skills up to where I wanted them. I also love the convenient location, with so many classes on offer you don't need to schlep into the city. Wendy and other teachers were fab and extremely helpful. Would recommend to anyone interested in making jewellery :)

Unfortunately, I have had a very disappointing experience with Sydney Jewellery school. I completed an electroforming class early November taken by the school owner Wendy. The class was good a little unorganised and lacked any real structure but overall, I was content with how it went and happy with the learnings. The problems arose after the class when Wendy neglected to send over the class notes that were promised. All students in the class were repeatedly told not to take any notes during the class because Wendy would send them over via email. Some of us were sold an electroforming kit for an additional $150 so we could continue to create our pieces at home. However, this is not particularly useful without any notes or even supplier lists. I have now contacted Wendy asking for the notes via email five times and via her Instagram page which she is very active on. I had one reply through Instagram promising me the notes as soon as her emails (that had been supposedly hacked) were ‘back up and running’. It has now been 9 weeks since I took the course and 6 weeks since I received a message via Instagram promising me the class notes, I have tried contacting her two more times since then. I am incredibly disappointed in total I spent $375 on this one day class including the class cost, materials fee and electroforming kit. I feel really let down by Wendy and would not have purchased the kit had I known I would not receive any instructions/class notes. Overall, sadly I would not recommend this company and I would not bother taking classes here again.

Sydney Jewellery School provides a wonderful learning environment. Owned and operated by an enthusiastic and multi-skilled artisan supported by a team of teachers who are recognised professional Jewellery designers and artists. The school provides classes in a wide range of media from beginners to experienced. A fun learning environment, very well equipped and offers something for everyone from hobbyist to careerists.
