Truly traumatising experience attending this school. Teachers were bullies and used strict uniform standards to single out students. I was refused bathroom visits, given detention within minutes of rebraiding my hair because i forgot to put a ribbon back in and "asked to leave" for something I didnt do. Especially woukd not recommend for neurodivergent kids.

as a former student of Sheldon college, this school has put me into depression due to the unnecessary level of strictness and perfection. They only care about the school reputation and don’t care about students wellbeing. They also favour the smart students and teachers are biased. Everyone gets treated unequally and unfairly by teachers. Overall not a great school if you don’t want to get discriminated and get criticised for not being perfect.

We’ve been searching for a suitable school for our children for a long time. While nothing is perfect, since transferring my daughter to Sheldon College, she has been happy and feels encouraged in her learning. She’s picking up good routines, getting more interested in learning, and starting to take charge of her own studies and co-curricular activities.

Disappointing Experience at Sheldon College My initial impression of Sheldon College was one of awe, as the facilities and offerings was impressive. However, after five months of having both of my children enrolled there, my perception has significantly shifted. Unfortunately, my children did not flourish at Sheldon College, one of them primarily had issues with bullying. The school's had a slow response in addressing it. Despite efforts to rectify the situation, the root cause of the problem was not adequately addressed, leading to ongoing unhappiness for one of my child. One major point of contention was the school's strict uniform policies, which seemed unnecessarily rigid and were enforced to an extreme degree. The consistent use of detention for most minor infractions only exacerbated the situation and contributed to a negative environment for my children. Furthermore, it was disheartening to learn that many other families had also experienced similar issues and chose to leave Sheldon College. With stories of negative consequences of their Child’s personality and general unhappiness. There is lack of focus on high quality education and the overemphasis on disciplinary measures ultimately led us to seek alternatives for our children's schooling. Despite the impressive facilities, our overall experience at Sheldon College was disappointing. My children are now enrolled in a different school with fewer amenities but a much more nurturing and supportive culture. It pains me to say that Sheldon College was a major letdown, and this has been the unhappiest period of my children's schooling years. If you do decide you want your children to attend Sheldon - I wish you good luck!

I Recently completed my Y12 education at Sheldon. I started in grade 7 so I have less of an understanding of the primary school. The Highschool at Sheldon college has so many great and supportive teachers. All of them incredibly devoted and interested in student learning. The facilities and the teachers are absolutely world class. However since the retirement of Lyn the school has become more progressive, parts of this is good and many parts are bad. Good include additions to the uniform and student driving policy. However this is also out weighed by some very self-centered students who have unfortunately been able to gain more of a platform due to this progressiveness. As an example there was an issue that was “hotly debated” while I was in grade 12 due to the new driving policy. The “issue” was that a teacher was upholding the rules set out in the drivers contract, that being that full student uniform must be worn when entering and exiting the vehicle on college grounds. There was lenience to this of course, say if you had to grap a school hat out of the boot, but this lenience stopped once students left the car park. Many students refused to follow this rule, citing it as “stupid” and therefore were punished for not holding their uniform in a high regard, as the school prides itself on. These students were then given detentions due to the infraction. The real issue comes in the schools response, because rather than back their teacher for upholding the rules they instead attempted to get the teacher to back down. Truth be told this is a small issue but it represents the slowly declining values at the school. I loved my time here but I would also approach sending your kids here with some speculation, If you want to send your kids to the “strict” and “High Expectation” school that Sheldon prides itself on (and imo these are great things), it may begin to falter. The teachers and facilities however are world class and I do not expect them to change anytime soon, the school would be foolish to let go such amazing and supportive teaching staff (bar a few, and I mean very few, bad eggs who I won’t mention). Thanks for the excellent education Sheldon, I do truely hope that you don’t become super progressive and become like other schools with no standards, expectations, or ability to punish and keep kids on the straight and narrow.

Sheldon College have been a customer of mine (Big Sign Company) for around 4 years. They are a great success story out of the Redlands. They foster a great caring culture and achieve excellent results in the process. I strongly recommend Sheldon College for anyone looking for a great private school for their children.

I attended Sheldon from prep to year 12 and I absolutely adore this school. I had many amazing opportunities and the values, standards and expectations prepared me for my future outside of school. The teachers go above and beyond for their students and build meaningful connections as well as delivering engaging lessons. Students can pursue and develop their skills in multiple arenas (academics, arts, sport, etc). There's a wonderful sense of community and camaraderie that I very much miss since I've graduated. I loved my time at Sheldon and I would certainly recommend it for parents looking for a school for their children
