I think the pastry class is really good, a lot of fun, even for us that English is not first language, Lee is very skillful and understanding, even we ask millions of questions in class, the kitchen class is always so good that my family enjoy all the food I take home 哈哈。

Owner's response

Had the best learning experience here at Alliance College! Big thanks to my cert 3 trainer Chef anthony for teaching me the skills in the kitchen and helping me build my confidence and work ethic in the kitchen. Thank you for sharing your passion to creating delicious food. And for always creating opportunities for us to showcase our skills. And to my cert 4 and diploma in hospitality trainer Chef Sneha Chowdhury, thank you for the genuine care you have for your students and for pushing us to be real professionals in the kitchen, you taught us what the industry is really like and always encouraged us to push ourselves to be better. Learned so much from managing kitchen to understanding how the industry is like outside through your experiences. Thank you Alliance Team, Chef Anthony and Chef Sneha!

My trainer Chef Anthony and Chef Sneha were great! They explained things in a simple and clear way, making it easy to understand the material. They were always patient, willing to answer questions, and made sure everyone felt comfortable participating. The classes were engaging and enjoyable, and I learned a lot from them. Their support and guidance really made a difference in my learning experience.

Unfortunately, my experience with the school was not good. I enrolled in a three-month course, but due to medical reasons, I could not complete it (I sent medical exams and all the requested medical proof). I tried to cancel this remaining one month, but they were extremely bureaucratic. They charged very high fines and fees, showed no empathy, and I was very frustrated. I did not attend the classes, yet they still keep charging me exorbitant amounts. I sent an email explaining the whole situation and even asked if I could complete this one remaining month and pay for it. However, the bureaucracy is enormous, and they only talk about fines and fees. Very sad. However, the teacher who taught me was kind, and every time I spoke with her, she understood the situation. It's a shame the school administration isn't like that too.

Owner's response

Dear Suzane,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience and regret any frustration this situation has caused you.

We understand that dealing with health issues can be challenging, and we strive to handle such matters with care and empathy. We acknowledge your concerns regarding the fees and the process you encountered when trying to cancel the remaining month of your course. Please know that our policies are in place to maintain fairness and consistency for all students, but we understand that each situation is unique.

We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your situation further. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so that we can work together to find a resolution.

Kind Regards,
Alliance College Team

Studying in this collage was a big mistake because: 1. I was never explained the true meaning of: "the classes are circular". When I started the course, I arrived at unit 6 of 12, so all the theory necessary to understand the activities had already been explained. Added to that, the teacher always said: "we already saw that in unit 1,2 or 3" without taking into account that many students had no idea what she was talking about. 2. My classroom had no ventilation grills, so in summer when it was 40 degrees, it was like being inside a sauna, when I saw this situation I commented to one of the teachers, if it was possible to buy a fan. The 3 months of summer were over and I never got an answer. Then in winter when it was 9 degrees Celsius. There was never any heating. 3. The excursions proposed by the teachers were not prepared, they just took us to walk through a park or to an event (organised by the Australian government) without the slightest idea of what it was about or what we could find there. There was no prepared speech or lecture and many times (like when we went to the botanical garden) they didn't know what time the place closed, and we ended up basically running to get out before the doors closed. 4. In particular my teacher most of the lessons had grammatical mistakes, she didn't know the answer to the exercises, she even often had an exercise from the BRITISH COUNCIL and she didn't know the answer either. It's as if he never took the time to prepare the class he was going to give. Being from another country their pronunciation was totally different from Australian pronunciation. One time she even commented that she had to revise for exams outside of working hours. The collage toilets are always dirty and have a very particular smell. A smell as if they had not been washed properly for weeks. 6. The kitchen (available to students) had no cutlery, the dishwasher was always dirty, the sponge used to wash the dishes seemed to be more than 6 months old. 7. On one occasion, we were put to watch a film (we students hoped that by watching the film we could practice our pronunciation and vocabulary) in which the actors DID NOT SPEAK! The film lasted more than an hour and the actors could not speak because the plot of the film was that if they spoke, they would be attacked by a monster. 8. The teachers who teach you are NOT NATIVE so often their pronunciation or the words they use are obsolete for the way people speak in Australia. 9. Despite having students from 5pm until 9pm, after 5pm there is no one at the reception in case the students have any questions or need to solve anything. Not to mention that a homeless man broke into one of the collage rooms and tried to STEAL a student's handbag.

I am Amy, a student at Alliance College. I just finished III Commercial Cookery. My teacher is Anthony Julianto. Over the past year, I have learned a lot about being a chef, combining theory with kitchen practice. My teacher Anthony is very responsible. He provides us with additional knowledge during class and occasionally makes jokes. I really enjoyed the year and am very grateful to my teacher for his instruction.

I came to Alliance after studying for a year at another school, and the difference is truly remarkable. The human and educational quality is excellent, the school is perfect, the classes are very well organized, and my teacher Scott Heher is outstanding. You can really see the interest and effort they put in to make things go well. I completed the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at another school and had the pleasure of attending a class here, and the difference is significant. I regret losing a year in other school when I could have come here from the start. If you plan to study to become a Chef, don't hesitate, come here because you will truly learn and enjoy the process.
