I am studying in this school myself and I am in grade six. From my perspective, this school is great. Yes, there may be a lot of work but once you learn to acknowledge the good in It, you will learn to appreciate it. The chapels with worship are fantastic and so is the undying fire that burns within us to keep Christ's love in our hearts and to show it to those around us. But not all is perfect. Sometimes teachers give us a lot of tests to do in one day. Like today, I had two tests and three PAT tests to do. And another day, I had seven tests to do. If they could unload the stress in that, that would be great. And they don't give us enough play. Only a walk. Maybe they could work on that and undrestand that students are humans and need fresh air. I also think that they should give the teacher aids a break with us too. I feel bad for them sitting there and marking so many stuff. Also, Mr Matthews should be aware a little bit of what is going on in the senior classes. They might be angels around him but they are actually not. Otherwise, this school is a really good school. I would never choose to go to another school. And if some of you think I am probably a nerd because I love this strict school. I still learn to enjoy all the blessings and good things around me. I don't just only study. I play and laugh and do all sorts of other profitable things. So if there are parents reading this. LCCC is the best school to send your kids to. Just train them up well and they will learn to embrace the world in our school. My friends are great as well. I have a spiritual friend who motivates me to continue my spiritual journey with God. I would say her name but just for precautions I not gonna say it. But a big shout out for her. I have other amazing things to tell you but I don't have time now. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

There is a LOT to unpack, this school is mentally draining and borderline disregardful for students, especially in higher classes. Homework is a huge issue, with PILES and PILES of it every week, just ask any student in yr 7+, and dont get me started on the holiday hw, its meant to be a break from schoolwork. The teachers can't go a second without screaming at the top of the lungs, and the way the force you to walk, and the fact you arent trusted to go even to the BATHROOM alone just feels like prison. Mr Matthews, a few years ago, even said that "mental health isnt real, find God." infront of easily impressionable STUDENTS. Another incident involved him wanting to put CAMERAS in the school bathrooms, to "keep an eye on students", but that was luckily declined. . The 'discipline' is horrid, and they only get ONE chance to go outside, each day, for grade 5 and up. yr 10 and up dont get to go out at all. if im not mistaken. Overall, do not place your student in this school, unless you want their mental health to decline.

In my humble experience of education and schooling within this environment. I can proudly say that this school provided no educational benefit, but primarily acted as a method to break students down and enforce a totalitarian process that students had to abide by. Stripping them away from the rightful and standard experience that many young children deserve to live.

This school is not only horrible with rules and procedures but also abnormal. The school doesn’t allow kids after year 10 to have recess or lunch outside which is decreasing their freedom and rights, as school goes on for hours (6-7 hours) and kids need free time and brain breaks!! Students after year 10 are still young and need personal time away from screens and to give their brain a break. The teachers in the school are racist and unprofessional. Students aren’t allowed to take public transports to school. What kind of school is this!! I’m so disappointed and I do not and will not suggest this school to anyone. If you’re a parent deciding if your child should attend this school, do not do it. Your child will lose their freedom and personal development. Some parents may have struggles or difficulties taking their kids early in the morning, what is wrong with public transport? It is our responsibility with our child’s safety, but your duty to understand our out of school problems and struggles. So it should not be an issue sending our children public transport to school. You may have rules in the school but out of school, you do not!! There’s not even a canteen or daily canteen to provide food for the kids who may get hungry during the day. This school is not it and I pray that this Christian school uses more Christian habits to ensure our kids are healthy and happy. Not to abide in awful and unnecessary/unimaginable rules. May God guide this school . Amen

Hi, I really hope Lighthouse's admin, staff, parents and students see this review. There are so many different opinions on this school but I'd really like to share mine so please read all of this. I have been studying at this school for years and have been considered one of the best students every single year. Although I have definitely enjoyed coming to this school because of how God-filled this place is, unfortunately, recently I have come to disliking it because of an over amount of pressure on rules. Don't get me wrong, discipline is 100% important, but it gets to a point where it just feels awful and upsetting. I and all the girls in my class were told off recently for using the playground equipment during our break time because there were about 5 boys on the playground, who we never at any point interacted with. We were told to sit on the benches in the playground for our whole break. One of the girls even cried because of this unfair treatment. We sat on the benches while those boys used the playground and were told that we 'never listened' and would be 'sent to the office'. During that time some younger students came and some waved and came over to say hi because they knew some of us. Our teacher proceeded to scold us for this as well, saying it was for 'health and safety reasons' which doesn't make sense. Our other teacher also once mentioned this year that we cannot use playground equipment if there is a boy there because they 'cannot save us' if the boy 'does something' to us. If this is supposedly such a good Christian school with good Christian students, why say boys will do something wrong to girls? We have also been forbidden from interacting with students in other grades even if they are of the same gender as us. In all my years at Lighthouse, this has definitely been the worst term I have ever had. I have always defended this school when others say wrong about it, but I definitely will not anymore. There have been many instances similar to this, and worse, that I have turned a blind eye towards, but I just cannot keep defending this school's actions. This school is amazing academically, but these rules have started to traumatise me. I hope things change and that I enjoy my last few years here. God bless you.

Lighthouse Christian College Cranbourne stands out as one of the best schools in Melbourne’s outer South-East and arguably across Victoria. Discipline & Christian Education – 10/10: Students are exceptionally well-behaved, and the school places a strong emphasis on instilling proper manners and Christian values. A priority is placed on raising students to be model citizens with a solid moral foundation. Education – 9/10: Primary School (Grades 1-6): Outstanding. Academic outcomes consistently rank among the top 10 in the state and often within the top 3—an impressive feat considering they compete with schools that charge up to 10 times their fees. Secondary School (Grades 7-12/VCE): Still strong outcomes, though not quite as exceptional as in primary school. Factors like family and social status, competition with schools charging significantly higher fees (up to 20x their fees), and selective-entry schools likely play a role. Fees – 10/10: Their fees are incredibly affordable, deliberately kept low to ensure accessibility for a broader community. Social & Extra-Curricular Activities – 9/10: The school offers a range of activities, including sports, excursions, camps, swimming, music, and end of year carnivals. While the focus isn’t heavily on extra-curriculars, this is communicated upfront. Parents who feel this area needs more emphasis can easily supplement these activities, especially given the excellent value provided by the school’s low fees. Conclusion: Having had kids at Lighthouse Christian College Cranbourne for the past three years, our experience have been overwhelmingly positive. The school is clear and transparent about its ethos, which centers on Christian principles, academic excellence, and discipline. They set clear expectations for parents to be actively involved in their children’s education—a collaborative approach that may not suit everyone but works exceptionally well for those aligned with their philosophy. If you’ve attended the school’s orientation sessions or interviews, you’ll know they are upfront about their priorities and expectations. This clarity ensures that families who enroll are prepared to align with the school’s vision. Ultimately, their results speak volumes, and my family has had no significant complaints. For us, Lighthouse Christian College Cranbourne has been a fantastic choice.

First of all I'd like to say that I did not enjoy my education at this school at all. I came when I was 11 years old in 2018. I thought it would be a fun learning, godly christian school, but it did not turn out that way. I admit the discipline was necessary, but making a child stand behind their desk, for how ever long the teacher wanted was not correct. As a christian you shouldn't be teaching children that aren't even yours like that. I think the only thing I remember at this school was all the memory verses they made us memorise. i don't even remember the proper subjects we were supposed to learn. It has given me trauma, and leading me astray from the proper Christian belief. Forcing children to sing against their will, making them pray. That is just horrible. We weren't even allowed to go out to play. TO PLAY. As children, we should have been running around, but no instead the teachers made us stay in class. Forcing us to do work. Like robots. They forbad contact and conversation between girls and boys. I'd cry every morning before going to school, I didn't want my parents to leave me there. All the teachers were scary and though they had athourity over us. The teacher I actually liked was my christian studies teacher. He made me feel christian in a good way. The Principal at the time made worship sound like it was a sin not to do this. The only thing that made me happy, was the friends I had made. They understood what we were going through, and that made me survive throughout the day. Basically it's like a religious cult more than a school. All that talk about which this school is better than others, the money cost. I don't care about those, I care about the wellbeing of my classmates. To not have made them feel insecure, or wronged, But the teachers just don't make us feel like we are worth. I am very glad to have left, before things more out of hand. But I haven't been there in 7 years, so maybe things have changed. I hope it has. Plus the principal Mr. Matthews went on helicopter on his 61st birthday to school. TO SCHOOL. like you aren't that special.

This is the best school for the kids and parents who values and wants to live a godly life in the current world situation. For me personally, education comes second. Wishing and praying my children and other children follow Jesus Christ is my priority. And I find that Christian value in this school. As parents, It is our responsibility, if we can give something best for our children, it is a godly and Holy spirit filled foundation in their life and for their life. And we found it in this school family. Yes, It is strict, and that biblical discipline is needed for kids in this wild wild world. Studies I have come across show that children who can take stress at young age do handle life stressful situations better and are not affected mentally, being a personal testimony myself, for Lord's leading and protection. FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT AWARE 'THE TEACHERS ARE MORE APPROACHABLE'. Mr. Mathews, office and admin staffs, teachers and parents work as a team to bring up best citizens of Lord's kingdom. Found Mr. Mathews being a man of vision for Lord's kingdom gave me the assurance that my children are in best hands. Education is second to me, And they give the BEST education my children can get in a safer environment. Reading the bad reviews, I was surprised, but then realised that those are the ones who did not get the admission in the school.

This Christian school excels in providing a strong academic foundation rooted in faith-based values. The nurturing environment fosters spiritual growth, character development, and academic excellence. Dedicated teachers guide students with love and care, preparing them for a bright future both spiritually and academically. Mr Matthew and all the teachers does an amazing job, love Miss Zoe with her beautiful smile. My kids love the school and they think its the best school. Highly recommended for families seeking a Christ-centered education.
